BUILDING

A LOCAL

COMMUNITY

We organised impactful events to strengthen community bonds and provide support to our local people. The Summer Fun Day, now in its second year, aimed to foster citizenship, encourage engagement, and promote social integration in Coatbridge and surrounding areas. The event addressed the cost-of-living crisis, especially during school holidays, by offering a range of free activities such as fun fair rides, bungee jumps, toddler soft play, and live music. Approximately 1200 people attended, with over 850 individuals receiving a complimentary lunch.

Another heartwarming event was the Coatbridge Visit Santa, catering to 35 children and parents. The festive gathering included games, story-telling by Santa, a visit to the grotto, and a gift and food for each attendee. Thanks to all our local crafters, the elves, a Christmas bear. Additionally, a Christmas lunch in partnership with The Rotary brought the community together for entertainment and a three-course meal.

We had our first traders food market in December from our car park in partnership with The Quarry Street Market. The next one will be back in Spring 2024... Keep a look out on our facebook for information nearer the time.

Wreath-making workshops were also organised by one of our volunteers, Anna, allowing the community to create beautiful decorations for their front doors. These events exemplify the community spirit and collaboration that define CCCG's commitment to enhancing the well-being of Coatbridge and Airdrie. We thank all our staff and volunters and funders for their support (National Lottery, North Lanarkshire Council, TESCO and CCCG).
